The role of the Monivae College Board is to set strategic direction and priorities for the school so that the school can continue to achieve its core objective of providing quality education to its students.

Sabrina Watt - Chairperson

Born and raised in the US Sabrina grew up on her family's cattle property in Nevada and attended a one-room school for eight years.  Sabrina has a BA in Journalism/History and worked at the U.S. Senate in Washington D.C. as a legislative aide before settling in Victoria in 1990.  She and her husband Gerard (Old Collegian '73) operate a fine wool growing property in Balmoral.  They have two children Janet (Old Collegian 2012) and Marcus who is the Boarding House Captain for 2016.

Sabrina is employed as Executive Administrative Officer at the Balmoral Bush Nursing Centre.  Her interest include writing, governance, community service and travelling.

Fr Bob Irwin MSC

Fr Irwin is the Director of MSC Education and is the MSC representative on the Monivae College Board.

Fr Denis Uhr MSC

Fr Uhr was a former Director of MSC Education and former Principal of Monivae College. He attends Board meetings in Father Bob's absence.

Fr Peter Hendriks

Fr Hendriks is the current resident MSC at Monivae College and is the College's Chaplain.

Mark McGinnity

As Principal of Monivae College, Mark McGinnity is automatically appointed to a position on the Board.

Captain Peter Gracias

Peter was born and raised in Pune, India where he completed his schooling before embarking on a career on the high seas commanding vessels engaged in international trade. Peter migrated with his family to Australia in 2000.

Peter is a qualified Master Mariner and is one of the leading Managers for the large Gas Develpoment for Chevron in WA . He has also held senior management roles in business development, safety and environment.

In 1992, Peter married Tania Sousa and they have two children who completed their studies at Monivae, Errol who was a School Leader in 2013 and Dylan, who was the School Captain in 2014.

Helen Morrison

Helen has most of her background growing up in Hamilton. She attended La Trobe University and subsequently taught at Horsham High School for four years. She spent time overseas and returned to Hamilton to work in the family real estate business. Helen married David in 1987 and they have two children, Jess who is studying at Melbourne University, and Oscar who finished at Monivae in 2008. Helen has been on the Monivae College board since 2003.

Kevin Safe

Kevin came to Hamilton in 1965 and was employed for 30 years with the Hamilton City Council, this included 17 years as the City Engineer. In 1995, Kevin was appointed as the CEO of the newly formed Glenelg Region Water Authority and remained there until his retirement 10 years later.

Kevin married Carolyn just prior to coming to Hamilton, and they have five children, all of whom attended Monivae. Kevin and Carolyn also have 14 grandchildren. Kevin joined the Monivae College board in 2008.

Sally Cunningham

Sally grew up in Adelaide, Canberra, England and USA, and studied at UNE. She worked with CSIRO as a soil Scientist prior to moving to Hamilton in 1991 where she worked in soil conservation and Landcare.

Sally and husband Peter (also an agricultural scientist) have theological training and speak several languages.

They spent 10 years working in agricultural development in Niger, West Africa, amongst subsistence farmers on the southern margins of the Sahara Desert.

Their two sons were home schooled in Africa, where the family enjoyed the richness and challenges of living cross culturally, before returning to Hamilton in 2010.

Sally currently works for the Victorian Department of Economic development (formerly DPI) amongst the farming community promoting soil health, farm planning and improved productivity. Aaron completed Year 12 in 2015, and Steven commenced Year 7 in 2016.

The family live at Tarrington, are actively involved in the Baptist Church and have an ongoing interest in rural poverty alleviation projects in Africa.

Tim Hallam

Tim was born in Hamilton and is a self employed Solicitor. He was appointed to the Board in January 2013.

Liam Davison

Whilst not a member of the Board, Liam has recently been nominated as a member of the MSC Education Council, with a particular brief to liaise with Monivae College Board on behalf of the Council. He held the position of Director of Religious Education for the Diocese of Ballarat for nine years until his recent retirement. Prior to that appointment he was principal of two Catholic secondary schools for a combined period of twenty three years. He lives in Ballarat with his wife Sue.

Jim Bailey

Jim is the Business Manager of Monivae College and is Company Secretary. Jim has over 25 years experience in the Banking and Finance Industry.  His eldest daughter Erin completed year 12 in 2014 whilst youngest Amy is currently in year 10 at Monivae College.
