Welcome to Monivae
Starting at the region's largest secondary school can be a daunting prospect for students, especially with many students coming to Monivae from the smaller primary schools in the region.
The transition at Monivae is designed to be as seamless as possible and offer in-coming students many opportunities to get to know their classmates and get a feel for student life at Monivae.
Spend the Day at Monivae 2017
On Tuesday, the 21st of March Monivae is inviting all regional Grade 6 students to 'Spend the Day at Monivae' with a view to learning what Monivae has to offer them.
This is a great opportunity for students to meet with other potential students and the chance to form friendships prior to 2018. The program for the day will cover a range of experiences for Grade 6 students including;
• Technology (Wood/Metal and Food Technology)
• Physical Education
Students are able to take advanatge of our current buses that run from Portland/Heywood and Casterton or use the local bus network in and around Hamilton.
All students are required to wear their primary school sports uniform on the day and to bring their school hats for recess and lunch time. Students should also bring their pencil case.
For further information contact Meg Cook on (03) 5551 1245 or via email@example.com Bookings are required.
Enrolled Year 7-2018 students and their families are invited to a BBQ on Thursday, 2nd November 2017 at 6pm. This is a great chance for parents/guardians to meet one another and also the Year 7 staff.
Our 2017 School Leaders will be at the event to meet the new students and lead them in some fun 'getting to know you' activites whilst parents get to know each other and staff in a relaxed atmosphere. Every thing is supplied for the evening and enrolled families will receive further information closer to the date.
On Tuesday, 7th of December, all Grade 6 students enrolled attend the 'Transition Day' at Monivae. Students will be sorted into their House groups and enjoy a further opporunity to get to know each other.
Students will have the whole school to themselves, offering a great opporunity to fully explore the College and all its facilities and to have the undivided attention of the Monivae staff.
Year 7 Camp
The first week of Year 7 is camp week. Held in Port Fairy this camp enables staff and students to really get to know each other, to bond, form friendships and establish the expectations of students as the newest members of our school commmunity.
