Monivae College Sports Academy (MSCA) is a full time integrated academic and sporting program for students in years 7 - 10. Specialist sports covered are: cricket, basketball, football (AFL), netball and swimming. The program is planned to allow student athletes to develop their sporting talent at a state-of-the-art training facility, under the tutelage of expert sport and fitness coaches, while receiving their secondary education in an innovative and integrated approach.

Monivae Sports Academy

MCSA students will have a portion of their lessons devoted to core curriculum (including English, Maths, Science and Religion). Depending on their year level, a balance of their remaining electives are devoted to the MCSA program consisting of the following:
  • sport specific skills coaching
  • strength and conditioning coaching on their general fitness and sport specific fitness
  • working with high performance specialists including dietetics, psychology and physiotherapy

The MCSA support team consists of:

  • Head of Football (AFL): Daniel O'Keefe - Former Assistant Coach for Carlton FC, Former Carlton VFL Coach, Former Geelong Falcons Head Coach, Former player Sydney Swans, Warrnambool FC Senior Coach
  • Football Coach (AFL): Josh Rentsch - 3 years experience SANFL with Sturt FC, Coates Talent League U/18 Best & Fairest, Former Captain GWR Rebels, Vic Country Representative 
  • Head of Cricket: Lachie Field - Premier First XI cricketer for Geelong, Former HDCA P.F.Christie Medallist
  • Cricket Coach: Craig Templeton - Level 2 Australian Coach. Association Representative coach past 5 years, Association Junior Co-ordinator and junior coach with over 8 years junior coaching experience 
  • Head of Netball: Will Jamison - Australian Men’s Netball player and captain, Head Coach Netball Victoria Western Region Talent Academy, Former Coach Hampden Interleague Open, South Warrnambool Head Coach
  • Specialist Coach: Tegan Phillips - Former Australian Diamonds netballer, Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist, Premiership Player with Melbourne Vixens, Melbourne Vixens Vice-Captain
  • Basketball Coach: Zac Dunmore - 4 seasons in the NBL Southern Conference, Current player with Ballarat Miners, Ballarat Rising Star Award 2021 
  • Head of Swimming: Andy Warren - Current Melbourne Swim Club Development Coach, Former Geelong Swim Club Head Coach, 15 years experience coaching swimmers, including medallist at Australian Age Championships.
