Jonathan Rowe - Principal
Jonathan commenced as Principal of Monivae College in 2020. Prior to this appointment, Jonathan was Deputy Principal at Monivae College for six years. Before joining Moniave College, he was the Design Head of Department at Salesian College, Chadstone for six years. Jonathan has a Master of Education – Wellbeing from the University of Melbourne. He has also previously held leadership positions in Design, Technology and Arts-related learning areas.
Jonathan attests to having a strong faith, an authentic commitment to Catholic education and a sound knowledge of Catholic beliefs, traditions and sacramental rites. Jonathan is a strong practitioner in his own right.
Fiona Mulhall - Deputy Principal
Fiona commenced as Deputy Principal of Monivae in 2020. Prior to this appointment, Fiona was the Assistant Principal at Chevalier College, Bowral a sister MSC school. Before joining Monivae College, Fiona has taught in various Catholic Education Colleges in NSW and held diverse Leadership roles including Head of Department, Year Coordinator, Curriculum Leader and acting Assistant Principal. Fiona has post graduate studies in Theology and a Master of Education (Educational Leadership) from the University of Wollongong.
Fiona is a committed Catholic and lay MSC person. She has a foundational belief in the value and mission of Catholic Education and in educating the whole student ‘It is by the heart we are something’ Jules Chevalier. Fiona has taught Hospitality (VET), Food Technology, Technology and Religious Education for over twenty years. Additionally, Fiona has been a HSC marker, curriculum writer, presenter and sat as a representative on the (VETAG) Catholic Education Commission.
Jim Bailey - Business Manager
As the College Business Manager, Jim is responsible for the overall day to day General Management, Financial Management, Property Management, Information Technology and Risk Management of the College. He holds a Graduate Certificate in Business Administration and brings over 25 years of experience in the finance industry to the role. Jim is an avid sports fan and enjoys camping, fishing and gardening. His commitment to the College and students extends far beyond his job description.
Katee Mitchell- Director of Students
Katee has held roles as Middle School Co-ordinator, member of the Visual Arts & Technology faculty and Uniform Committee.
Caroline Coggins - Learning Support Co-ordinator
Caroline commenced at Monivae College in 2012 having taught science, maths and biology in both in Australia and England prior to this. She has had many roles involving pastoral care and is now the Learning Support Coordinator, overseeing the literacy and numeracy interventions and Learning Support Officers. Prior to joining Monivae College, Caroline worked at Camberwell Grammar as a teacher and also looked after the Alumni. Caroline has a strong commitment to MSC beliefs and Catholic education. Caroline works closely with the Catholic Education Office in Ballarat and numerous groups within the local community.
Danny Franc - Director of Faith and Mission
Danny commenced at the College in 2010 and has held various leadership positions including Middle School Coordinator, Year 10 Coordinator and Religious Education faculty leader. Danny has completed a Master of Education specialisation in Leading Education, adding to his strong commitment to MSC beliefs and Catholic education. His engaging manner with both staff and students assist all at the College to connect with the MSC ethos. Additionally, Danny works closely with the Chevalier Institute, other MSC schools and numerous groups in the local community.
Ben White - Director of Learning and Teaching
Ben has worked in a number of roles since starting at Monivae College in 2018, including Head of English faculty. He is a VCE English assessor and council member of the Victorian Association for the Teaching of English, and is a published English text book author.
Sofia Vearing - Senior School Co-ordinator
Sofia was a student at Monivae College from 1980-1986. Following her secondary education, Sofia studied at Monash University and returned to Monivae as a staff member in 1991 and has remained working at Monivae since then. Sofia has held the position of Humanities Faculty Leader for a number of years and has taught History, Geography, Biology and Science across all year levels. She has also been a long-time homeroom teacher of Year 12. Sofia is an active contributor to the Teaching and Learning team but is now broadening out to take on a more pastoral role as Senior School Coordinator. Sofia loves Monivae and is proud to be a part of the Monivae Community. Monivae has had a huge impact on Sofia’s life as a student, staff member and parent of two students both of who flourished during their time at Monivae.
Kylie Schurmann - Marketing Co-ordinator
Kylie has over 25 years marketing experience across a range of sectors specialising in public relations, content management and brand development. Kylie joined Monivae in 2021 and leads the communication, marketing and branding of the College. Representing various community based organisation in Dunkeld, Kylie is also a business mentor. The parent of two Old Collegians who attribute the MSC values to successes after secondary schooling, Kylie appreciates the significance of a Monivae education to all.
