The Chevalier Centre at Monivae College, is a multi-million development that is home to the wellbeing and Positive Education and Psychology programs at the College.
Monivae has long had a sense of educating the whole student and this development ensures that every student has the opportunity to make the most of their education by actively promoting the positive wellbeing of all.
The Centre includes counselling rooms for our school counsellor, Chaplain’s office, mindfulness room, a seminar room, heated indoor pool and a new gym and change room facilities to enhance the physical wellbeing of students.
“The Chevalier Centre demonstrates a new era of pastoral care incorporating Positive Psychology at Monivae College. We are not only making an investment in the facilities but also part of our staff development is focused on wellbeing.”
“Monivae has an extraordinary tradition of giving students, not just an education in the classroom, but an education that prepares them for life beyond secondary school, the benefits of this Centre and the programs it contains are something that students will benefit from throughout their whole lives. In typical fashion responding to the obligation of its community citizenship, the College felt it needed to do something worthwhile and positive to address the issues that face teenagers and adolescents in the district. This was the underlying principle that drove the establishment of the Chevalier Centre.” Jonathan Rowe, Principal (Masters in Wellbeing).
